Who is Jermaine Kennedy

I’m Dr. Jermaine Kennedy, a lifelong educator, youth advocate, and community leader dedicated to ensuring every child has access to opportunity. As the Chief Program Officer at The Boys & Girls Club of Central Ohio, I lead strategic partnerships and innovative programs that empower young people and strengthen families.

With a background as a nonprofit education director, elementary school teacher, and principal, I’ve spent my career creating pathways for student success—from the classroom to community programs that change lives. I believe in building coalitions, breaking barriers, and driving systemic change to ensure that education works for all students, not just some.

Beyond my work in education, I serve on several community and political committees, including the Democratic Central Committee, CCS Community Engagement & Advocacy Committee, and Partnership4Success Steering Committee, where I help shape policies that support youth, families, and educators.

I earned my Bachelor’s in African-American & African Studies from The Ohio State University, my Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati, and my Doctorate in Educational Administration from Ohio State. But my greatest pride is my family—my wife, Adrienne, of 22 years, and our two sons, Khari and Jalil. As a parent of a CCS graduate and a current CCS student, I know firsthand the challenges and opportunities within our schools.

I’m not just here to serve—I’m here to make a difference. Let’s build a future where every student, every family, and every educator has the support they need to thrive.
